Students create either a myth or a fairy tale where they incorporate the element of a story plot, comma rules, and the narrative structure in their writing.

To introduce the expository structure, I have students complete what is called an assignment titled My Theme Song. With this assignment, students review the importance of a topic sentence and relating their main ideas and elaboration back to the topic sentence. Teaching Literature

I believe students should be exposed to classic literature, young adult literature, and nonfiction texts to develop students as well rounded readers.
